This Sunday at Imago Dei, we will finish our “Love Your Neighbor” series. I will be preaching on “The Spirit of Adoption” from Romans 8:14-17, 23.
As mentioned in an earlier post at the IDC site, we plan on partnering with Help One Now in effort to live out our PEACE Plan.
We’re excited to hear from Chris Marlow this Sunday about the ministry of Help. One of the things that you can do this Sunday is sponsor a child in need. Chris and his team will have an information table set up, a “mock Haitian tent” from Tent City, and information about sponsoring children.
We look forward to working with this ministry in the future for several reasons. Here are a few:
- The needs are tremendous;
- Help does what we want to do: orphan care, trafficking prevention and aftercare, church planting, pastor training, poverty relief, and more;
- The accessibility to Haiti (though not the only country that Help works with), and affordability for going to Haiti is good for our particular congregation at IDC;
- We can have an ongoing relationship, not just a one-time trip.
In January the Elders will be taking a trip to Haiti to see more specifically how IDC can serve with Help.
